In January of 1980 I began a career which would define the rest of my life - I started to work in the Insurance industry. Working for Fortune 100 companies as well as small mutual carriers; working all over the country in metro and rural markets; I gained both significant expertise in the field as well as a real appreciation of the importance of Risk Management & Insurance in the lives of families and businesses. Today I work full-time training new insurance producers in how they can protect the financial health of those they serve. I see our industry as both a noble and needed contributor to society, and have developed the Servanthood Selling program to teach new agents not just the technical knowledge they need - but also the moral and ethical values that frame their mission of serving others. Finally, as an adjunct professor I teach Risk Management & Insurance at a local University in their Risk Management & Insurance major.

Insurance Producers have a bad reputation. in Movies and TV that often depicts them as greedy, grasping and disingenuous.
When training new producers what I hear often from those new to the industry is: "Please!! I don't want to be that person!!".
In fact, when teaching the techniques of selling it is easy to slip from the focus of helping others to one of primarily benefitting yourself. You can do both! Servanthood Selling is an approach to the techniques of selling embedded in the mission and morality of serving others.
